How You Can Go Green at Your Dentist

Is your dentist green?   Here is what a green dentist does:

1.    Uses digital x-rays:  They have 90% less radiation, there are no toxic chemicals or toxic packaging and there is better diagnostics.  Ask if your dentist uses digital x-rays.
2.    Use digital charting and email correspondence:  Conserves paper and is more efficient with patient management and office efficiency.  Ask if your dentist has gone digital.
3.    Uses digital crowns, (Cerec):  They don’t require packaging compared to temporaries and molds that require a lot of packaging materials and paper. And, in one visit gas, time and clean-up is saved.
4.    Understands the link between his patients oral and systemic health

Here's what you can do to go green:

1.    Choose mouthwashes and toothpastes without alcohol or excessive sweeteners. There are natural products available.  Always read the labels.
2.    Use excellent home remedies to prevent gum disease: the WaterPik and Soniciare toothbrushes are two good examples.
3.   Stay healthy:  This is one of the best ways to practice being Green.
4.    Start your day with daily supplements to promote good health and an active immune system:   Use Vitamin C, CoQ10 and eat natural fruits and berries with antioxidants such as blueberries and acai.
